Hayes School - History

We believe that history is a valuable curriculum area, introducing children to concepts and skills related to the evolution of their own and wider communities. It is not only the study of the past, but also the past in relation to the present day, influencing the customs and beliefs of our society.

The subject will be taught in an interesting and stimulating way, and the children will be given opportunities to hypothesise and make deductions. The use of historical sites and primary and/or secondary sources will be central to each unit of study
