Hayes School - Art

Art at Hayes is concerned with learning to investigate and communicate ideas through a variety of materials and methods in an environment that is stimulating and exciting. Children are involved in work covering both National Curriculum attainment targets, investigating and making and knowledge and understanding. They will be given the opportunity to develop a growing knowledge of art, craft and design and its historical background to acquire and use relevant skills across the curriculum and to promote enjoyment and imagination.

Art is taught within the classroom generally by the teacher using a variety of appropriate teaching and learning styles. Display work is given a high status. We believe it helps provide a stimulating learning environment, create a pleasing atmosphere, and foster a feeling of pride and achievement.
