School Council

Our School Council meets every month to discuss important issues for pupils.

The School Council had a fantastic opportunity on Friday 28th April 2023 to visit the Houses of Parliament. We ‘walked in the footsteps of Monarchs,’ by being allowed to enter the Monarch’s entrance and the Robing Room! We were also allowed entry into the House of Lords and the children met and talked with a member of the House of Lords. We also participated in our own debate as MPs with Jess acting as The Speaker of the House! It was a day where the wow factor was ever present! The children were impeccable ambassadors for Hayes School!

The School Council met with parliamentary candidate Mr Kevin Foster on 8th November 2019 to ask him various questions about his ideas about democracy and how to help people in need.  Mr Foster was able to see the good work going on in the school and helped the children to celebrate our successful Ofsted Inspection.

In November 2019, the School Council  presented Paignton Community Larder with food collected after our Harvest Festival.
