Since the weather was so lovely in June, we have been busy doing lots of activities in the playground! In phonics the children have been jumping into hoops to sound out CVC words. The children have also been making pictures using different 2D shapes. In the final week of June, we got to decorate biscuits. We put icing, chocolate buttons and strawberry laces on them. It was so yummy! We learnt why it is important to wash our hands before touching food.
The children have been making the most of the glorious sunshine this month! We have been busy playing in the sandpit and making dens in the playground. The children have been making ‘Crazy Cress Heads’ this week, they have enjoyed watching the cress grow and making crazy hairstyles with them! We also had a ‘Superhero day’, where the children got dressed up as their favourite superhero, they all looked amazing. Finally we would like to say a huge thank you to the parents/carers and children who have made some lovely art work for our ‘Parent partnership board’.
The first week after we came back from the Easter holidays was ‘Cultural Week’. We had lots of fun learning about different countries and tasting lots of food from around the world. Now the weather is starting to brighten up, the children have been taking part in obstacle courses in the playground. They have enjoyed jumping of crates, crawling through tunnels and going down the slide. The children have also been very creative with their story telling, using their imagination to suggest new endings for their favourite books.
March began with lots of snow! The children got wrapped up nice and warm, and had a very quick play. Easter is quickly on the horizon, which means that the children are busy making Easter crafts and having lots of fun in our ‘Easter Den’. We have also begun planting seeds as we will be back out in our Nursery garden after the holidays and we have enjoyed learning about how plants grow. We hope everyone has a lovely Easter break and we look forward to seeing you all in April.
We have been very busy this month in Nursery. For Valentine’s Day we made heart shaped biscuits, they were yummy! The children have been exploring different ways to use paint, they tried painting on bubble wrap and painting with pom poms. Ivybridge Donkey Sanctuary visited the children, we learnt how to take care of the donkeys and we even got to stroke them!
A huge welcome to our new children who have just started with us. All of the children have settled in well and have been making lots of new friends! Thank you to the parents who have supported the children in making art work for our Parent Partnership Board, this term it is about Paignton Zoo. We have also been busy learning about Ice and what happens to ice if it is left out in the sun, it felt very cold!
We have been getting very excited about Christmas this month in Nursery! We have been decorating our class Christmas tree and having lots of fun in our Santa’s Grotto, dressing up as snowmen and Christmas puddings! We have also been decorating our party hats, ready for our Christmas party on Wednesday. Merry Christmas everyone!
